Squat Proof Leggings: How To Choose The Right Pair
What does squat proof mean?
Squat proof means the fabric stays fully opaque at the bottom of a deep squat. No sheer-out, no transparent panels under load.
Knit density
Heavyweight knits stay opaque because there's more fibre per cm². If you can see your hand through the fabric when you stretch it, it's not squat proof.
Stretch return
Cheap leggings stretch — they don't recover. Look for four-way stretch with high recovery, so the fabric snaps back rep after rep.
Fit testing
The bend-and-mirror test: bend forward, touch your toes, look in the mirror. If you can see skin through the fabric, they're not squat proof.
Frequently asked questions
No. Black is more forgiving but only opaque knit is truly squat proof.
Our heavyweight and seamless ranges are both designed to be squat proof.
